Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Wolfe Physical Therapy located?
We treat patients at their homes or work offices in Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Greenwich, Norwalk, and Wilton, CT. We have found patients like the convenience and personal touch of being able to receive quality physical therapy (PT) when their schedule permits it in their own environment. This also cuts down on the 20-30 minutes of travel time patients may have to drive to various outpatient facilities. For those people who would like to be seen at a facility, we are currently treating patients at Dynamic Athletics in the Good Wives Shopping Center in Darien, CT. Call or e-mail Wolfe Physical Therapy to schedule your appointment.
What if I don't have any equipment at my house or office?
Not a problem. We will bring a treatment table, exercise bands, massage creams, etc. We will create a physical therapy environment that is effective in treating your pain and returning you back to optimal function as quickly as possible.
What should I wear for Physical Therapy?
Comfortable clothes are the preferred attire. Loose clothes are easy to help expose an area such as a cut off shirt for shoulder problems or shorts for knee problems. We want you to be comfortable and have to ability to move without feeling restricted.
Do you take my insurance?
Call us at 203-998-6522 for more information on which insurance companies we work with. Regardless of whether or not we take your insurance, we will make sure your results are not dictated by your insurance company. We are able to work with all of our patients one-on-one for 60 minute sessions which are tailored to you personally. This ensures you will get the results you want and get back to activities you love to do. Read and follow the instructions on the worksheet to determine your benefits for physical therapy.
What can I expect from a typical treatment session?
The first session of physical therapy is approximately 60 minutes and is a thorough evaluation to properly assess your movement, determine your pain contributors, begin manual treatment and provide exercises to help empower you with treating yourself at home. Follow-up sessions will still be one-on-one for 60 minutes encompassing manual therapy techniques including IASTM, soft tissue massage, spinal/joint mobilizations, comprehensive therapeutic exercise, McKenzie exercises, neuromuscular re-education, balance training, and any other treatments where only a skilled physical therapist can provide instruction!
Do I need to see my physician or get a prescription before receiving physical therapy?
The State of Connecticut has direct access for physical therapy. You are able to be treated without a physician referral for six visits or 30 days whichever comes first. If it is deemed that you will need to see a physician for additional diagnostic testing or evaluation we will assist you in getting the right care as quickly as possible.
What are the hours of Wolfe Physical Therapy?
The hours for Wolfe Physical Therapy are flexible to your schedule. This allows patients the freedom to incorporate physical therapy into their lives versus having to rearrange their schedule to fit in a quick session of PT.
